Chefs Notes
When Liat found me, her business was doing ok! She was bringing in around $8k (USD) per month, but she just couldn’t figure out how to take it to the next level. She had BIG dreams but lacked confidence, knowledge, and had a hard time setting and sticking to boundaries. While I have been following Liat since our coaching wrapped up, I didn’t realise just how incredibly well she is doing now. Her turnover is impressive, she’s no longer a freelancer but the CEO of an S-corp, and is working towards new goals because she’s achieved the ones she had when we met. This is one success recipe you’ll want to bookmark.
Ingredients Liat started with…
Method to Liat’s success
Jaz: Before investing in 1:1 Coaching, what problems did your business have?
L: Well, for starters, it was my first time ever having my own business and I didn’t even really know the basics…. And I mean the BASICS. You taught me all about brand identity and the ingredients for a great website and all of that. I had no idea about marketing (like I’d never even thought to build a mailing list), no idea about boundaries or client communication, and even though I was doing social media for my clients, I really lacked confidence in marketing myself.
I remember being on a coaching call with you and we came up with an idea that you made me post on Tik Tok as soon as we were done. To this day, that video has 2.3 million views. I think I really needed that accountability from you.
Jaz: What made you choose me over other coaches?
L: I remember that you were recommended in a FB group when I posted asking for a business coach. I jumped on your website and your pricing calculator really impressed me. I’d never seen anything like that before and it was such a helpful and cool resource.
I will admit, I was a bit scared when I saw your price, so I booked just an initial noodle session.
I’d been on coaching calls with other coaches who were way cheaper and I always hated that they looked at my stuff DURING the call. You had actually invested in me before we even had our first call. You’d looked at and audited my website and socials and it felt like you were respecting my time and my investment. We were able to jump straight into things in that noodle session and you gave me so much practical advice and so many practical solutions. I remember you sending me this Google doc with a whole heap of notes that just made sense.
I went away with a really practical ‘to-do’ list and, from there, I was hooked on having you as my coach.
Jaz: What goal were you hoping coaching would help you achieve?
L: Essentially I needed someone long-term who could keep me accountable.
I was the founder, CEO, whatever, and I was super lonely. I didn’t have anyone to lean on or ask for help or anything. I don’t think I realised right away that what I needed was a business bestie, and that’s what you have been for me. You moulded into what I needed. Other coaches have been so rigid and boring and unable to be led by what I actually need. They only know how to teach from their notes, even if it’s not entirely relevant. You are nothing like that and it was exactly what I needed.
Jaz: Prior to 1:1 Coaching, were you making money from your creative genius and, if so, how does it compare to now?
L: I think I was sitting around 4 clients per month and generating $7 – $8k (USD) per month, but I was doing it alone. Now, I’ve got employees, more clients and longer relationships with them and we’re doing around $15k – $20k per month (USD).
It’s not just about the money though, I’ve got higher quality clients now. I’ve now got a radar to spot potential red flags and the confidence to say ‘no’. If things do turn sour, I know when and how to fire clients without worrying about being able to replace them. I’m Israeli-American and it’s within that culture to expect discounts or handouts, and I ended up having to develop a bit of an attitude about it so I could learn to say no (and now I do).
I now have the confidence to run this as a business and that’s something I didn’t have when we first met.
Jaz: After being in 1:1 Coaching, what has been your biggest win?
L: I actually don’t even know where to begin, there have been so many. You have literally helped me build the business I didn’t have but wanted so desperately. I think that’s the biggest win.
I came to you with these goals I wanted to achieve because I had this dream that I was trying to turn into reality, and I just had no idea how to make that happen. Now, I’m not even a freelancer anymore, I’m the CEO of an S-corp with great employees that I trust (and I used to struggle with that), and great clients. Every little thing you taught me, you helped me with, you pep-talked me into (or out of) has contributed to this growth and success. Having the business I used to dream of is the biggest win, but there have been so many smaller wins that got me here.
Jaz: What has been the best part of having me as a coach?
L: Having a work BFF (for sure), and that kind of encompasses everything. I was really missing emotional support as well as practical business support, and you’ve been both of those things.
You were there on the good days and the bad. You stopped me when I was spiralling, you helped me reframe my mindset when I needed to, you taught me how to manage client relationships, and you helped me learn how to sell myself. Your heart was actually in my business, and I never doubted that you could help me.
Jaz: After completing 1:1 coaching, how long did it take for you to notice positive changes in your business?
L: Oh, right away. You really listened to me and pushed me in the ways that I needed. I knew I had you to lean on and I knew I could trust what you were telling me, so that’s what I did. I’d come away from every interaction with fresh eyes, fresh confidence, fresh strategies, and a fresh to-do list. It wasn’t like I had to wait until the very end to start to put things into practice and see positive changes. It was right away, and it was constant.
Jaz: After implementing what you learned from our 1:1 Coaching, what has been the biggest change you’ve seen?
L: Which one do you want to go with? There are too many! (Jaz: Well, this isn’t about me, but if I had to start off with something, I’d say that you’re actually trading yourself as a business and you weren’t before.) Yes, I’d DEFINITELY agree with that.
I have the confidence to do that, as well as the skills and knowledge and strategies. I set boundaries now. I’m business savvy now. I know who I need to be and I’m consistently learning and growing more than I would have ever thought possible. I’m now working towards a successful business that doesn’t necessarily have me in the driver’s seat, and that’s actually a real possibility now.
Jaz: Can you estimate the ROI from your coaching investment?
L: Well, it’s been a year since I wrapped up our coaching, so I had a look at my figures over the last year. I know how much I spent on coaching and if I do the math, the financial return over the last 12 months is 40 times what I invested.
(Jaz? What?? Are you kidding me?!). Literally.
I have more than doubled the income I was earning before I started coaching, but the return isn’t just financial. I’ve gained confidence and skills and knowledge and a new mindset that will keep increasing that financial return. I know I said before that I’m now focussing on building the business to be something that doesn’t have me entirely in the driver’s seat, and I can only do that because the return is so big and so consistent. I can’t possibly put a figure on that.
Jaz: What would you tell others who are considering 1:1 Coaching with me?
L: Just f***ing do it! If you’re considering it, then that probably means you need it.
It’s scary to pull the trigger, but if it’s crossed your mind more than twice, that’s your body and your soul telling you that this is what you need to do. Jaz will quickly put your fears to rest, trust me. I’m the epitome of what happens when you invest in Jaz. You get so much more than you ever bargained for, and the return just keeps on growing.
You have to invest in your business to actually grow your business, but it’s important to invest in the right things.
Investing in Jaz is the right thing.
Jaz: Liat, it’s been incredible catching up with you and hearing about your incredible success. I’ve dropped your website and socials below so we can all see what’s next for you!

Craving that next level of success but need a boost to get you there?
I get it, doing this alone is hard. You’ve got all the spinning plates and juggling all the clients and have ZERO time to actually work on your business. I’ve worked with so many creatives craving ways to make money faster, easier and more enjoyably. And as you’ve already read, it works!
